I have started putting together
some short videos as the best way to present information about the
murder of Elizabeth Short and Los Angeles in the 1940s.
The
first one is about the Florentine Gardens and draws on a radio
broadcast
from the club and my collection of souvenir photos. The Florentine
Gardens figures in the Black Dahlia case because Elizabeth Short lived
for several months in the home of the club's business
manager, Mark Hansen. Although the club has survived as of this writing
(2006), the home on Carlos was demolished years ago to make way for a
parking lot for First Presbyterian
Church of Hollywood at Carlos and Gower.
